It's a big year for the Grand Restaurant Group, which runs Bellamy's Restaurant in Escondido and The Ranch at Bandy Canyon. Together with its marquee-name culinary guru Patrick Ponsaty, the group is taking over what was once Delicias in Rancho Santa Fe and redubbing it Ponsaty's after the chef, whose long and impressive culinary history includes the honorary title of Maître Cuisinier de France, or Master Chef of France, and lead positions in several local kitchens.
Ponsaty's is scheduled to open in June, but in the meantime the hospitality group has just completed a remodel of Bellamy's in collaboration with San Diego-based Solc Interiors. The new design, which combines mid-century modern style with industrial elements, includes walnut tables, oversized booths and smoked mirrors, plus a revamped bar and dining room. "
Chef Ponsaty, who will continue to oversee the kitchen here while opening Ponsaty's, brings his fine dining training to the modern California-French menu, which employs ingredients grown at The Ranch at Bandy Canyon. In the works is a refreshed happy hour and a prix fixe chef's tasting menu featuring a rotating selection of his seasonal dishes.
