Liberty Public Market: The Ultimate Guide

Open now is epic food emporium Liberty Public Market, which spans 25,000-square-feet in Liberty Station. This massive project from Blue Bridge Hospitality houses 27 artisan vendors — ranging from debut brick-and-mortar outposts from local food trucks to farmers market favorites' first storefronts, expansions for existing businesses and brand new food concepts. The market's footprint also includes ample outdoor space, including multiple dining decks and a 3,000-square-foot dog-friendly patio. Before you visit, take a tour of the food and drink vendors that make up the Liberty Public Market.

AE Floral

Award-winning full service floral design company AE Floral will be your one-stop shop for fresh cut flowers and bouquets, plus small potted plants, orchids, succulents, air ferns, candles, stationary and other home decor items.

Baker & Olive

Known for its tasting pantry featuring premium olive oils and aged balsamic vinegars from Modena, Italy, Baker & Olive will also be selling assorted condiments and spices, plus tapenades, jams and locally-made bone broth.

Bottlecraft

The third local outpost of this boutique beer shop will offer everything from local favorites to rare domestics and international finds, plus a tasting bar with 24 draft lines. Thanks to a unique liquor license, guests can also enjoy their beverages while wandering around the market.

Cane Patch Kitchen

With their genuine Southern cooking and unparalleled hospitality, Tony Smalls and Ebony Broadway will be serving up soul food dishes like étouffée, gumbo and po' boys, plus traditional desserts ranging from homemade peach cobbler to New Orleans-style beignets.

Cecilia’s Taqueria

Owner Cecilia Cortazar Peterson's gourmet tacos and other regional Mexican fare will be prepared with handmade corn tortillas, wild caught fish, grass-fed beef, free-range chicken and other locally sourced ingredients.

Crafted Baked Goods

Crafted will serve as a creative outlet for the whimsical creations of Blue Bridge Hospitality's executive pastry chef Francis Laureano. Expect over-the-top cakes, sweets, and larger than life cookies baked fresh daily by his team of pastry cooks. Crafted will share a space with ice cream shop Scooped.

FishBone Kitchen

Innovative 12-seat raw bar showcasing Sinaloa and Peruvian style ceviche, Hawaiian and Japanese style poke, sashimi, uni, oysters on the half shell and more. Dan Natrass (formerly of Catalina Offshore) will oversee the retail counter, where locally and regionally sourced whole fish, lobster, prawns and urchin will be available.

Fully Loaded Juice

100% raw, cold-pressed juices made using organic and locally sourced fruits and vegetables from local farmers. A selection of juices, almond mylks and tonics will be made fresh daily, in addition to one-day, two-day and three-day juice cleanse packages.

Garden Fresh

This market produce stand will showcase organic wares from multiple growers including Suzie's Farms, Be Wise Ranch, El Campito Farms and Mountain Meadow Mushrooms. Look out for exotic offerings like Japanese white radishes and red Russian kale.

Grape Smuggler

Under the direction of Blue Bridge Hospitality beverage director Greg Majors, Grape Smuggler offers an intimate wine bar setting with a cellar boasting approximately 500 bottles of wine and 300 varietals from around the world, including some Baja gems from the Valle de Guadeloupe.

Howlistic

Premier small pet supply store selling natural food and treats, including raw and raw-alternative brands, supplements, treats and chews, plus eco-friendly supplies and accessories for all your dogs and cats needs.

Le Parfait Paris

A chic bar area with counter seating from this Gaslamp eatery will serve as a premiere patisserie and boulangerie showcasing exquisite French-style desserts, including pastries and homemade macarons, plus authentic baguettes and gluten-free items.

Liberty Meat Shop

This 1950s style butcher shop is filled with the finest beef, lamb, pork, veal and poultry sourced from sustainable farms from around the country. Marinated meats and a variety of sausages are also available, as we as hand cut meats from the team of in-house butchers.

Local Greens

Fast-casual eatery set in eco-friendly surrounds serving chef-designed salads and wraps, plus globally-inspired burritos and build-your-own bowls using seasonal, sustainable and locally-sourced organic produce.

Lolli Sweets

Bulk soft sour candies, gummy bears and licorice share space with locally handmade chocolates, European and international candies, and freshly made organic cotton candy at this modern take on an old-time candy store.

Mama Made Thai

Fresh-made meat and vegetarian Thai dishes paying tribute to generations of classic family recipes, influenced from the central region of Thailand. Seasonal items and weekly menu specials on popular noodle, curry and rice dishes will also be offered.

Mastiff Sausage

This popular food truck's first brick-and-mortar location specializes in all natural, hormone-free meat sausages made from scratch, plus other specialty menu items including sauerkraut, pickled vegetables, mustards and hot sauce. Sausage sandwiches, topped fries and other fare can be ordered to eat in or take away. Conveniently, Mastiff is located just steps from Bottlecraft's beer bar.

Mess Hall

Helmed by Blue Bridge executive chef Tim Kolanko and chef de cuisine Colin Murray, the ever-changing menu at Mess Hall will be sourced daily from the artisans within the market, where every dish will have beer, wine and cocktail pairings by GM and sommelier, Tami Wong. The restaurant is scheduled to launch later this week.

Pacific Provisions

Crafted with the finest all natural ingredients, Pacific Provisions (formerly Desert Smoke) will stock a variety sauces and hot sauces, zesty seasonings, and Smokin' Dry Rubs in addition to a handy selection of kitchen wares and retro sodas.

Parana Empanada

Authentic Argentinian empanadas made fresh daily in a cozy, counter-serve setting. With 12 to 15 flavors on the menu, all empanadas come with four housemade sauces; look out for lunch deals, weekly dessert specials and rotating seasonal sides.

Pasta Design

A selection of classic and seasonal pastas including ravioli and fettucine made using locally sourced ingredients - including the best semolina, durum flours and cage free eggs - will be available either to eat in or take home.

Scooped by MooTime

Hand-crafted ice cream, yogurt and sorbets made from scratch in a fun and nostalgic setting. Design your own confections by selecting from a wide variety of toppings, flavors and cones, including hand-rolled waffle and chocolate-dipped.

Stuffed!

Elevated comfort food served in sophisticated yet fun comic book-themed surroundings from this food truck-turned-storefront. Menu offerings include the Stuffed! gourmet BANG! Burger, crunchy tater tots, new spicy fried chicken sandwich, plus a weekly rotating ice cream sandwich deal.

Venissimo Cheese

This European-style fromagerie showcases international imports and domestic varieties of cow, goat, and sheep cheeses, plus honeys, jams, olives and charcuterie and operates additional cheese shops in Mission Hills, The Headquarters and Del Mar. To-go menu options include the grilled "Venini Panini", plus assorted cheese plates and party trays. Venissimo also plans on hosting cheese-centric events and classes at the market.

The WestBean Coffee Roasters

Here, coffee connoisseurs can enjoy fresh roasted, micro-batched coffees from Costa Rica, Ethiopia and Papa New Guinea. Expect classic espressos, signature lattes, and drip coffee plus cold brews on nitro, growler fills and a selection of Mad Monk Teas.

Wicked Maine Lobster

Owned and operated by Eric and Alex Howard, this former farmers market fave's authentic "Maine lobster shack" will be serving up competitively priced premier lobster rolls, New England clam chowder and lobster bisque, plus new menu items including fried clams, haddock and scallops.

Still to come

There's even more in store for the Liberty Public Market. Roast Meat & Sandwich Shop, an acclaimed eatery focused on sustainably produced food from Canada's Victoria Public Market, may be expanding here with a market stall. And an annex adjacent to the main market space has room for a few more vendors; in the works is Bread & Butter, which will stocked freshly-baked loaves from local bakeries including Con Pane, Bread & Cie, Sadie Rose, Prager Brothers and Pacific Time.
