Modern Times Beer Dinner at Emerald; Malarkey Reveals Herb & Wood Team

LITTLE ITALY— Celeb chef Brian Malarkey and business partner Chris Puffer have revealed key team players for their new Kettner Boulevard project, Herb & Wood, which is now scheduled to open in April. Longtime chef collaborator Shane McIntyre will co-lead the kitchen with Malarkey with Adrian Mendoza (Spago) on board as executive pastry chef. Heading up the bar program is industry fave Willem Van Leuven, who also serves as president of the United States Bartenders' Guild's local chapter. [EaterWire]

GASLAMP— While BiCE Ristorante executive chef Mario Cassineri oversees the kitchen at new University Heights hotspot Madison, he is also debuting lunch service at the downtown Italian restaurant, now available Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. The menu includes sharable appetizers, salads and larger plates that range from traditional pasta dishes to meat and seafood entrees.
