Multi-year semifinalist nominee for "Best Chef: West" in the prestigious James Beard Awards, William Bradley, is bringing in some culinary firepower from around the country for the second annual edition of his guest chef dinner series, "Collections", at Addison. The highly-lauded director and executive chef of the Fairmont Del Mar's signature restaurant has signed up some huge names this year, starting on Saturday, May 21 with Gavin Kaysen, the chef and owner of Minneapolis' Spoon and Stable, a 2015 James Beard Award Finalist for Best New Restaurant, who helped Café Boulud in New York City earn a Michelin star when he worked with Daniel Boulud as its chef de cuisine. Kaysen is also a former San Diegan; locals with a long food memory may remember his acclaimed tenure at El Bizcocho in Rancho Bernardo.
The seasonal series continues on Saturday, July 2 with Los Angeles-based chef Michael Cimarusti, who is the proud holder of two Michelin stars, many James Beard Awards nominations, and is the owner of Hollywood seafood temple Providence. In the kitchen on Saturday, October 29 will be Gabriel Kreuther, whose self-named restaurant in New York City has been awarded a Michelin star and three stars from The New York Times. And finally, the dinner series concludes on Saturday, December 10 with superstar chef Gary Danko, whose eponymous San Francisco restaurant is frequently on top of the city's must-eat lists and has won three James Beard Foundation awards.
For all dinners, Bradley and his guests will be collaborating, with each chef preparing four alternating dishes to make an eight course meal, plus dessert. Call 858-314-1900 for reservations.
