Urban Plates Dishing Up New La Jolla Village Location

It will open in May

A tipster prompted us to check in on the status of Urban Plates' new La Jolla Village location, which is currently in construction in the complex that also houses Ralph's and Trader Joe's.

A rep for the SoCal-based fast-casual, cafeteria-style concept, which operates locations in Carlsbad and Del Mar and has a new outpost in Orange County (Brea) launching next week, says that the company is scheduled to open this next local store on May 23; it will be 5,200-square-feet, which includes a 2,200-square-foot patio.

The eatery, which is known for its seasonal menu of salad, soups, sandwiches, braises and desserts — including the killer mango tart — just rolled out a new main dish of St. Louis ribs with housemade barbecue sauce that comes with two sides and grilled focaccia.
