After five years in Hillcrest, Heat Bar & Kitchen has changed ownership and will grand open on Saturday, March 12 as Pardon My French Bar and Kitchen. The restaurant's design and most of the kitchen and front of house staff remain, and its proprietors hope that Heat's followers will continue to patronize the restaurant as the concept draws new diners.
Eric and Lindsey Fillion, who led a series of community art gatherings under the Pardon My French moniker, are taking the restaurant in a California-French direction, with most of the changes reflected on the menu which will now feature classic and traditional French dishes. The wine program is also entirely fresh, curated by Chambers & Chambers Wine Merchants' Dustin Jones to focus on small producers. The "interesting yet comfortable" list features 32 French labels, including a good number of rosé wines, plus a few select bottles from California.
Pardon My French Bar and Kitchen plans to continue to host live music and DJs, and starting Sunday, March 13, will debut a brunch that offers bottomless lavender mimosas.
