New Hot Breakfasts at Bottega Americano; Lemon Grove Gets Fried Chicken & Waffles

EAST VILLAGE— Bottega Americano just launched a new menu of hot breakfast dishes now being served between 7:30 and 10:30 a.m. that ranges from breakfast wraps and bowls to an egg scramble with pesto, roasted tomatoes and burrata to egg-topped avocado toast and a cheddar biscuit sandwich that comes an egg and the option of prosciutto cotto, sausage, bacon or fried chicken. Each dish is $9 or $12 in a combo with fruit and coffee. [EaterWire]

LEMON GROVE— Fried chicken fans who can't wait for Roscoe's to open in San Diego are all aflutter over the debut of Da Chicken Coop a new fried chicken and waffle joint from the owner of the well-respected Coop's West Texas BBQ. MIRA MESA— White Labs Brewing Co. is throwing a party on Thursday, March 17 to celebrate St. Patrick's Day and the limited edition bottle release of its annual Frankenstout. Dubbed FrankenBash, the event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at the White Labs tasting room and will feature 750ml bottles available for purchase, while guests will receive an eight ounce pour of the robust beer and a keepsake mug for $10.
