Dirty Birds Bar & Grill and Nekter Juice Bar Join Liberty Station Lineup

Both are due this summer.

Liberty Station's food and drink landscape keeps on growing, with two new tenants just announced for the complex. Coming in next to The Loma Club’s nine-hole golf course, into the site of the former Wine Steals which has been vacant since last April, is Dirty Birds Bar & Grill (2970 Truxtun Road). Known for its chicken wings, with over 30 housemade sauce variations, plus salads, burgers and sandwiches, the eatery's original location opened on Mission Boulevard in 2008, with a second outpost popping up near SDSU last year. Its 3,000-square-foot space in Liberty Station will be given a sports bar overhaul with help from North Park-based OBR Architecture.

Elsewhere in the NTC, in a 1,500 square-foot space in the section that houses Vons and Five Guys, will be the fourth San Diego-area location for Nekter (2445 Truxtun Rd.), a juice bar with branches in La Jolla, Del Mar and Encinitas. Its menu ranges from made-to-order juice blends and cold-pressed grab n’ go bottled juices to juice cleanses, smoothies and acai bowls. Both lease deals were secured by The McMillin Companies in collaboration with Jill Morton (Capital Growth Properties) and Jim Rinehart (Retail Insite) and should be open by Summer 2016.
