The Perfect Diner Breakfast at Perry's Cafe, Tuesday at 9 a.m.

Eater photographer Lyudmila Zotova captures the scene at the bustling Old Town-adjacent spot.

Shining like a breakfast beacon off Pacific Coast Highway since 1985, Perry's Cafe was opened by Greek immigrants Constantine "Costas" and Margaret Georgakopoulos (an older location in El Cajon is still in operation but no longer owned by the family).

Now run by the couple's daughter Perry Eulmi and her son Patrick, the truck stop-turned-eatery is still popular with drivers of 18-wheelers thanks to its amply-sized parking lot, but the friendly 150-seat diner is equally beloved by power breakfasting city officials and locals looking to fuel up from its hearty portions.
