Burnside Expanding Bar & Beer Program on Adams Avenue

It shutters today for a month-long remodel.

Bradley Schweit
Casual sandwich shop Burnside, which opened last year in Normal Heights as a casual dining option for the neighborhood and to help feed patrons at nearby cocktail parlor Sycamore Den, is closing today to do some physical improvements to the space.

Owners Russell Hampton and Nick Zanoni will reopen Burnside on March 1, on the cusp of its first anniversary. Construction plans include making a significant expansion to the bar, expanding it from eight to 28 feet, and offering additional seating. The beer program will also be beefed up; expect to see more taps and a larger selection of bottles and cans.
