Pappalecco Premieres Fifth Tuscan-Inspired Cafe in Del Mar

It officially opens on Thursday

Tuscan-style cafe Pappalecco experienced a serious growth spurt this year; in February, brother-owner duo Francesco and Lorenzo Bucci debuted a new location in Kensington with its own pizza oven and last month, launched a similar outpost in Cardiff.

This week, Pappalecco will open its fifth eatery in the Del Mar Highlands Town Center. Serving organic coffee and a full array of menu items, including pastries, gelato, panini, and salads made in its central kitchen in Point Loma, the Del Mar location will have slices of pizza ready to heat and serve but does not have an on-site pizza oven cooking up whole pies. The cafe also plans on adding beer and wine eventually.

Expect more Pappalecco’s to pop up locally. In a statement, chef and co-owner Lorenzo Bucci shared, "We are delighted to have our Tuscan homes all over San Diego County, providing neighborhoods with fresh, simple Tuscan-imported ingredients and quality food in a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere. Pappalecco is a neighborhood symbol and I think every neighborhood should have one!"
