Roast Sandwich Shop Opens at Liberty Public Market

Plus, Bistro du Marche turns one & Chino Farm hosts Nancy Silverton

LIBERTY STATION— A popular food vendor from Canada’s Victoria Public Market now has an outpost in Liberty Public Market. The just-opened Roast specializes in sandwiches stuffed with naturally-raised meats, from chicken with salsa verde to porchetta and beef with chimichurri, along with rotating side dishes that include salads, vegetables, grains or potatoes. The San Diego outpost’s menu is identical to the original, save for the veggie sandwich and superfood salad station. [EaterWire]

LA JOLLA— Chef/owner Jean-Michel Diot is celebrating the first anniversary of Bistro du Marche with a special menu that will be offering from Thursday, November 3 to Sunday, November 6. The six-course menu will be a survey of Diot’s culinary resume, which includes stints at Michelin starred restaurants in France and his own award-winning restaurants in New York, plus tributes to signature dishes created by other master French Chefs. RANCHO SANTA FE— James Beard award-winning restaurateur and chef Nancy Silverton will be the next featured guest at Chino Farm’s Good Earth/Great Chefs series on Sunday, November 6 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Silverton will be signing her new cookbook, "Mozza at Home" and joined by her chefs and the artisans from Di Stefano Cheese who will be cooking reces ifrom the book usng the farm’s produce.
