Battle of the Chef Bands Returns This Wednesday

LITTLE ITALY— The annual good time that is Battle of the Chef Bands will be held at Music Box this Wednesday, November 2 at 7 p.m. Among the industry bands taking the stage will be talented crews from George’s at the Cove, Jayne’s Gastropub, Modern Times Brewing, Snake Oil Cocktail Co. and Saiko Sushi. Event tickets, which range from $55 general admission to reserved tables, including bites from a dozen food stations; participating restaurants range from Urban Solace to Ironside Fish & Oyster, Sirena and Cupcakes Squared, and proceeds from the live and silent auction will benefit local non profit Center for Community Solutions and the Berry Good Food Foundation. CORONADO— Chef Steve Brown, who emerged victorious at the KABOO Rock’n Chef competition, will cook up a special San Diego Beer Week edition of his Cosecha pop-up on Saturday, November 5 at Gustatory in Coronado before he heads to compete at the World Food Championships in Alabama. The five-course dinner, which showcases produce grown at local Wild Willow Farms, is $80 and will include pumpkin ravioli, beets and bone marrow, and 72-hr Karubi short rib paired with beers from Temecula’s Ironfire Brewing Company.
