Yakitori Hino Brings More Grilled Skewers to Kearny Mesa

Plus sake, soju & more

The eatery, which is open Wednesday through Monday from 5:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m., is larger that the jewel box-sized Yakitori Taisho, but it will specialize in the same style of traditional yakitori grilled over Japanese bincho charcoal. Skewers range from chicken wing, heart, liver and gizzard to beef with wasabi, pork shiso and yam cake with yuzo miso, or there are yakitori sets that include the chef's choice of four, seven and ten skewers.

There's also a range from small dishes, including spicy fried chicken, seaweed salad and monkfish liver with plum sauce, and rice bowls topped with poke, chicken and beef. Yakitori Hino also billing itself as a sake bar, and offering a variety of bottled sake plus soju and soju-based cocktails, beer and wine.
