Breakfast Republic Marches Forward With Fourth Location

More morning eats for the East Village

Breakfast Republic Join the Ranks at Liberty Station This Weekend

Proving that brunch is boss in San Diego, Breakfast Republic is building on its success in North Park and Liberty Station with a recently-announced location in Encinitas, and now there's intel on another outpost that's headed to the East Village.

Back in June, we learned that Zanzibar Cafe was up for grabs after nine years in operation at the corner of G Street and Seventh Avenue. Location Matters' Mike Spilky represented Breakfast Republic in the deal, which encompasses a 2,696-square-foot interior and a 300-square-foot sidewalk patio.

While the morning-centric eatery will open as soon as next month in Encinitas, owner Johan Engman shared that it won't debut in the East Village until February 2017.

It will join the rapidly-developing resurgence of new food and drink projects in the neighborhood; Michael Burton of Cushman & Wakefield’s Urban Strategies Group, who represented the landlord, says, "Breakfast Republic is a brilliant addition to the downtown dining scene and exemplifies the continuing flood of quality operators and concepts into the East Village community".
