KEARNY MESA— Brew-centric Common Theory Public House is going big — really big — for its inaugural beer pairing dinner, scheduled for Monday, January 25 at 6 p.m. The eatery has signed up nine marquee chefs, including NINE-TEN's Jason Knibb, Juniper & Ivy's Anthony Wells, Galaxy Taco's Christine Rivera, Ironside's Jojo Ruiz, George's at the Cove's Jonathan Bautista and more, to share the kitchen with Common Theory's Robert Villicano and prepare a bound-to-be-epic nine course dinner featuring the creations of AleSmith Brewing Company. Tickets are $100. EMBARCADERO— Marina Kitchen at the Marriott Marquis just updated the restaurant, revamping the wine cellar into a more casual new tasting bar, which will feature daily 4 p.m. wine tastings, showcasing red or white wine flights for $14 or a five selection flight from their featured winery of the month. With every wine purchase, the kitchen team — led by 2015 San Diego Bay Wine + Food Festival Chef of the Fest winner Aron Schwartz — will offer a complimentary snack. [EaterWire]

BANKERS HILL— Leisurely Sunday fundays just got even more appealing. BANKERS HILL BAR + Restaurant just launched a 'Sparkling Sundays' special, now offered every Sunday during the eatery's brunch and dinner service, when its sparkling wines, available by the glass or in full and half bottles, are 25% off.
