Chef Patrick Ponsaty Announces Project; Poké Go Expands to North County

Plus, new sweet treats for February at Fig Tree Cafe.

RANCHO SANTA FE French Master Chef Patrick Ponsaty formerly of Bellamy's in Escondido will lead a new premier restaurant concept in Rancho Santa Fe Village. The Grand Restaurant Group signed a seven year lease on the 5,808-square foot former Delicias space, which is set to be named Ponsaty's in honor of the famed chef and is slated for a June opening. RANCHO BERNARDO Fast casual restaurant concept Poké Go will be opening a second outpost in North County. A five-year lease has just been signed at the 1,200-square foot space at Mercado Shopping Center in Rancho Bernardo. This will mark the second outpost for the chain which specializes in the popular Hawaiian poke dish, the original is located in Hillcrest. [EaterWire]

PACIFIC BEACH With Valentines Day fast approaching, on Monday February 1 the Fig Tree Cafe will roll out some suitably sweet specials for the month. Red velvet French toast, and white chocolate raspberry French toast feature on the breakfast menu. Adult tipples include the Flirtatious Fruitesse (Liefmans Frutesse beer, vodka and champagne), and Modern Times Float, made with Modern Times Coffee Stout, vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce topped with whipped cream.
