OTAY RANCH—San Diego's homegrown hospitality firm Karina's Group is getting set for the grand opening of its newest and largest restaurant in Chula Vista on Wednesday, February 3. Co-owner David Contreras-Curiel has transformed the latest outpost of Karina's Mexican Seafood into a bright, airy setting featuring lots of color and natural light. From 8:30 p.m. onwards the party opens to the public who can stop by to enjoy a "Fiesta Fabulosa" with complimentary samplings of ceviche, margaritas and live music, plus plenty of other dishes from the no-host menu. MISSON VALLEYSauvignon Blanc lovers should head to Sammy's Wood Fired Pizza on Wednesday, February 3 for their Kim Crawford Wine Blending Class & Dinner. During the blending seminar hosted by Kim Crawford brand ambassador Mathew Deller guests will get to sample six small-parcel Sauvignons from the Kiwi winemakers with the opportunity to create their own blend. Starting at 7 p.m. the two-course dinner costs $40 per person and includes a prosciutto and lentil salad to start, followed by chicken tequila fettuccine paired with Kim Crawford's Spitfire Sauvignon Blanc.
