A popular refueling spot after a round on the Torrey Pines Golf Course and home to that justly-famous burger, The Grill at The Lodge at Torrey Pines will close on February 1 for a $2.5 million overhaul that includes a redesign of the space and a comprehensive menu redo.
When it reopens in June 2016, the casual eatery will have a revamped trellis-covered patio that will house fire pits and a wood-burning cooking suite that includes a grill, rotisserie and oven, which will provide the foundation for a new menu based on wood-fired cookery from The Lodge's acclaimed executive chef, Jeff Jackson; in line with the property's farm-to-table ethos, The Grill will offer breakfast, lunch and dinner based on seasonal, local ingredients. Don't worry, the Drugstore Burger is staying.
Both The Grill and The Bar will have larger, reconfigured seating areas, with The Bar featuring a bigger selection of San Diego-brewed craft beer. During the remodel, The Lounge and A.R. Valentien upstairs will expand its outdoor seating options to accommodate extra guests.
