LA JOLLA— Catania Coastal Italian, which debuted in La Jolla last March and just recently scored a spot on the Eater 38, has a new executive chef running the ship. Dustin Karagheusian, sous chef at the Prospect Street restaurant, has stepped up in place of Vince Schofield and will be working with Whisknladle Hospitality Corporate Chef/Partner Ryan Johnston on evolving its menu. Schofield will be taking up the executive chef post at Searsucker Del Mar, where he replaces Jc Colón. [EaterWire]
MISSION HILLS— The next installment of The Red Door Restaurant & Wine Bar's Farmers, Friends and Fishermen Dinner is scheduled for Wednesday, February 3. Executive chef Miguel Valdez will be creating a four course menu highlighting seasonal local products, including produce from Stehly Farms and The Red Door Family Garden, pastured beef from Autonomy Farms, sustainably sourced fish from Catalina Offshore and wine from Ramona Ranch Winery.
