New Cocktail & Craft Beer Tavern Coming to Carmel Valley

In what will likely become a trend of established hospitality groups tapping into the oft-neglected suburbs, Verant Group — whose holdings include barleymash, True North Tavern and Uptown Tavern — is headed to Carmel Valley for its next opening.

The group is planting Westroot Tavern at The Village at Pacific Highlands Ranch, the newly completed development at that will also house the Mediterranean-inspired CRUDO.

Scheduled to open this spring, the restaurant and bar will offer lunch, dinner, brunch and late night dining in a space that includes two bars, two patios, a mezzanine and 30 HDTVs. Expect a chef-driven seasonal menu, craft cocktails and local beer.
