Farm-to-Turntable at FLUXX; Lobster West Heads to Coronado

Plus, Green China Grill opens on Convoy.

GASLAMP— Ono Yum's next unique event is scheduled for tomorrow, January 12 from 6 to 9 p.m. at FLUXX Nightclub; dubbed Farm to Turntable, it will feature the culinary stylings of 10 San Diego chefs doing modern interpretations of the Filipino food that they grew up with and showcase their love of hip hop. Featured chefs include Craig Jimenez (SuperNatural Sandwiches), Evan Cruz (Arterra), Phil Esteban (The Cork and Craft), Charles Andres (Ocean Pacific Grille) and many more; each chef will be doing a dish and collaborating on a whole roast pig. Tickets are $30 in advance or $50 at the door. CORONADO— East Coast seafood specialists Lobster West, whose flagship eatery is in Encinitas, have announced that they will be heading south and expanding into a second location in Coronado. It's set to open at 1033 B Avenue in Spring 2016. [EaterWire]

KEARNY MESA— Green China Grill, the new Convoy Street restaurant specializing in hand-pulled noodle dishes, is now open. The menu is currently limited to beef noodle soups, with each bowl's noodles pulled to order, but the full food and drink offerings, which include grilled skewered meats and beer on tap, will be available in a few weeks.
