After 30 Years in Santee, Mary's Donuts Is Moving

A new location should open by the end of the year.

A doughnut-loving friend of Eater gave us the heads up that after over 30 years, the iconic Mary's Donuts will be leaving its original location in Santee at 9301 Mission Gorge Road.

The cherished shop, which first moved into its gas station-adjacent building in 1984, is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week; popular treats include glazed old fashioneds, apple fritters and maple bacon doughnuts, plus cream puffs and fried fruit burritos. They also serve bagels and coffee.

Mary's lease is up on December 31, 2015 so they've secured a new location in Santee at 8959 Carlton Hills Drive, about a mile and a half from its current store. They're hoping that the transition will be seamless and plan on keeping the 24/7 operating hours.
