Coveted Corners in Iconic Mister A's Building Up For Grabs

Check out two big restaurant opportunities in Bankers Hill.

There may be no restaurant more legendary than Mister A's and no building more recognizable in San Diego than the one that houses the eatery on its rooftop in Bankers Hill. Eater has learned that two prime spots have become available in the building, which sits along the heavily-trafficked Laurel Street thoroughfare. Urban Strategies Group's Pasquale Ioele and Michael Burton are representing the new ownership and Ioele says, "With the iconic building going through a significant remodel, this is a unique opportunity for restaurants to open on one of the main intersections in all of San Diego."

On the ground floor at the corner of 5th and Laurel, there's a large signature restaurant space that's 9,933-square-feet and comes with a 1,250-square-foot patio; for the smaller 3,842-square-foot space with a 750-square-foot patio at the coner of 4th and Laurel, they're looking for a fast-casual cafe concept. The 13-story building also holds over 400 parking spaces. There are already several well-regarded restaurants in the area, from CUCINA urbana to Bankers Hill Bar + Restaurant and Azuki Sushi; what else does the neighborhood need?
