Another Orange County-based eatery is replacing Yu's Garden, which expanded to San Diego from Irvine last year but shuttered this month in Kearny Mesa. Its former Convoy Street location, in the same complex as Crab Hut and O'Brien's Pub, will now house Tasty Noodle House.
The Chinese restaurant, which has five existing outposts in the LA/OC area, is currently remodeling the space and will reportedly be ready to open in two to three weeks. Tasty Noodle House specializes in northern Chinese cuisine, from seafood dishes from the port city of Dalian to Shanghainese specialities like soup dumplings, pan-fried rice cake and fish filets in a crispy, seaweed-flecked batter. The extensive menu also includes cold appetizers, smoothies and boba drinks and lots of noodles, from a long list of noodle soups to chow mein. It will be open seven days a week from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.
