Celebrated local architect/developer Jonathan Segal always manages to attract appealing food and drink tenants to his mixed-use buildings, from Modern Times Beer and Tacos Perla in the North Parker to Underbelly and Bencotto in Little Italy's The Q.
Mr. Robinson in Hillcrest is his latest project, a seven-story development at 3752 Park Boulevard (at the corner of Robinson and Park Boulevard) that includes 29 rental apartments, office suites and two ground floor commercial spaces. Eater has learned that at least one restaurant has already signed up for residency; taking a 2,687-square-foot space that includes a 1,300-square-foot outdoor patio is TRUST Restaurant.
Two alums from the Eat.Drink.Sleep. group, whose properties include JRDN at Tower23, DRAFT and Cannonball, are branching out to team up on the project. Executive chef Brad Wise will oversee the kitchen while general manager Steven Schwob takes care of the front of house; the duo plans to open TRUST in late Fall 2015 with a menu of seasonal shareable plates and globally-influenced beverage program that includes local craft beer, artisan wine producers and craft cocktails from Juan Sanchez (Kettner Exchange, JRDN).
A rep for Mr. Robinson told Eater that a few names are in the running for the second commercial space, but the final tenant has not been confirmed.
