Comic-Con Inspired Desserts & A Feast in Oceanside

Plus, the BLVD Market expands, adds vendors and a cocktail lounge.

GASLAMP— French bakery Le Parfait Paris is getting into geek-fest mode with Comic-Con inspired desserts, including Game of Thrones-themed chocolate dragon eggs and their signature praline and chocolate mousse dessert decked out with edible swords to look like the series' iconic throne. And Star Wars is the influence behind Le Parfait Paris' bavarois in the form of R2D2, a lightsaber-shaped eclair, and a tropical dessert made to look like Yoda. [EaterWire]

OCEANSIDE— FEAST, a new food festival and fundraiser to benefit local non-profits, is heading to the Old Mission San Luis Rey on Wednesday, July 15 from 6 to 9 p.m. There will be tastes from area restaurants, including Panca Peruvian Cuisine & Rotisserie, Petite Madeleine Bakery and Flying Pig Pub & Kitchen, plus wine, beer, spirits, live music and a silent auction and raffle. NORTH PARK— On Friday, July 17 from 6 to 10 p.m., The BLVD Market, presented by the El Cajon Boulevard Business Improvement Association, is back and bigger than ever; the popular night market's footprint is expanding to run the length of Utah Street between Howard and El Cajon Boulevard. There's now room for more food vendors, who'll include Luck Dutch Juice Co, The Green Bar/Thai Food, Poppas Fresh Fish Co, and an appearance by Buona Forchetta's own mobile pizza oven/flatbed truck. There's also a new cocktail lounge, called the Calypso Club, that will feature the craft cocktail stylings of Snake Oil Cocktail Co.
