Heart & Trotter Adds Sandwiches; Ironside Hosts Shuck-A-Thon

Plus, Coronado Brewing Company turns 19.

NORTH PARK— The Heart & Trotter has expanded its prepared food options by offering a new sandwich of the day on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays and will eventually ramp up to a daily sandwich special. Sandwiches are currently available for $9 each or as a combo with a drink and chips for $12. The butcher shop is still waiting for a beer and wine license but its outdoor patio should be activated this weekend. [EaterWire]

LITTLE ITALY— Ironside Fish & Oyster's 2nd annual Shuck-A-Thon is back on Wednesday, August 5, when executive chef Jason McLeod hosts six guest chefs who will each shuck their hearts for an hour; from 4 to 10 p.m., an all female chef lineup that includes Rachel King from NINE-TEN, Great Maple's Carmine Lopez and Ironside's own Donna Antaloczy will be opening and serving the restaurant's signature Ironside Select oysters for just a buck apiece , with all proceeds from their house going to the charity of their choice. BAY PARK— Coronado Brewing Company is celebrating its 19th anniversary with party that'll be held at their Knoxville Street tasting room and brewery on Saturday, August 8. There will be live music and food trucks on site with items for purchase; $10 tickets include a pint of 19th Anniversary IPA, an Imperial India Pale Ale a commemorative anniversary glass.
