Liberty Station's Soda & Swine Opens Wednesday; Alfonso's Staying in La Jolla

LIBERTY STATION— We're hearing that Soda & Swine will open this Wednesday, July 22. The meatball eatery's second outpost will operate daily from 11:30 a.m. to 11 p.m.; new features for Liberty Station include an expanded menu, an in-house pie shop and cocktails that range from Negronis to drinks that combine ice cream and booze. LA JOLLA— Frequenters of Alfonso's of La Jolla can breathe easy. Although there were numerous reports that the restaurant would shutter and move to a different location after four decades in La Jolla, owner Jorge Fierro writes that plans have changed. Alfonso's will be staying in its original spot at 1251 Prospect Street for the foreseeable future. [EaterWire]

POINT LOMA— On Thursday, July 23The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf® is grand opening its new Point Loma store (4175 Voltaire Street) with a celebration starting at 2 p.m. San Diego City Councilmember Lorie Zapf will be in attendance and there will be samples of coffee and tea, including the new "Build Your Own Original" Ice Blended® drinks, plus giveaways of $5 gift cards, T-shirts, tumblers and more while supplies last.
