Tequila Ocho Dinner at The Patio; Rosé Party at The Westgate

Plus, Puesto wins a top taco award.

MISSION HILLS— A super lineup of chefs from both sides of the border are collaborating on a Baja-inspired five course meal at The Patio on Goldfinch on Tuesday, June 16 at 5:30 p.m. Drew Deckman of Deckman's en El Mogor, Bespoke Event Styling & Design's Andrew Spurgin, Ryan Steyn of El Jardin de Adobe and Karla Navarro of Salicornia are joining The Patio's John Medall to cook a dinner paired with Tequila Ocho. Creator Tomas Estes, one of only two official tequila ambassadors for the Mexican government, will be on hand to lead of tasting of the single estate agave-based spirits. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN— The Le Metro wine club is putting on its second annual Rosé on Midsummers Eve event at The Westgate Hotel on Saturday, June 20 for 6 to 8:30 p.m., where executive chef Fabrice Hardel will be serving a variety of charcuterie, cheese, vegetables and more to pair with Le Metro's curated pouring of Rosé wine and local funk and soul band Bump and Brass will provide music to dance to. Tickets are $65 through June 12 and will increase to $89 on June 13. [EaterWire]

LOS ANGELES— This past Saturday, 80 taco specialists from the LA-area, Mexico and San Diego participated in the epic LA Weekly-sponsored Tacolandia event, including our own Puesto, Aqui es Texcoco and Comun Kitchen & Tavern. It was a stellar day for Puesto, who was crowned the crowd favorite and took home the People's Choice Award for Best Taco for their best-selling Chicken al Pastor taco. [EaterWire]
