The Red Door's Getting a Mid-Century Modern Revamp

A birthday makeover in Mission Hills.

After six years in Mission Hills, The Red Door Restaurant & Wine Bar is getting a new face. The Washington Street farm-to-table eatery has announced that it will shutter over the Fourth of July weekend for a redesign, which will be overseen by the owners' daughter, Sarah Watlington, who also put together The Red Door's current East Coast-inspired look.

The Red Door will re-emerge with a new mid-century modern design that will include cedar awnings outside and fresh paint and artwork for the interior; all chairs will be swapped for sets that are either locally made or vintage mid-century. To celebrate the remodel and commemorate the restaurant's anniversary, owner Trish Watlington is putting together a set of $40 multi-course dinners on Wednesday, July 8 and Thursday, July 9 that executive chef Karrie Hills will cook up with ingredients from local purveyors and The Red Door's Mt. Helix garden.
