Celeb Chefs Cycle to Puesto; Housemade Hot Dogs & Beer at Counterpoint

Plus, an urban winery plans a short hiatus.

DOWNTOWN— Tomorrow night, Puesto at the Headquarters will be end point of a two-day bike ride to support Share Our Strength's No Kid Hungry program. The Food Network's Melissa D'Arabian, plus Top Chef's Michael Voltaggio (ink.) and Mary Sue Millikin (Border Grill) will be dining on Puesto's patio to cap off their Chefs Cycle journey, which has been raising funds to feed children in need. GOLDEN HILL— This Thursday, June 18, Counterpoint will be hosting a tap takeover by 21st Amendment Brewery out of San Francisco. Starting at 5 p.m., the restaurant will be pouring $3 pints of the brewery's beers, including Brew Free or Die IPA and Hell or High Watermelon Wheat, while executive chef Rose Peyron cooks up a batch of housemade hot dogs, from classic beer to a turducken-inspired link made from turkey, duck and chicken. LITTLE ITALY— San Diego Cellars, which moved its urban winemaking facility to Little Italy in late 2013, has announced that it will be shuttering for a temporary summer hiatus and will be closed from June 25 to July 15 in order to renovate the winery and its patio. From now until the closure, San Diego Cellars is offering 10% off the purchase of six or more bottles and/or wine growlers. [EaterWire]
