EAST VILLAGE— Always a delicious good time, the annual Sausage Fest is back at Jsix on Wednesday, June 17 when local chefs will battle it out for the title of San Diego's top sausage. Held poolside at LOUNGEsix, the event features meat masters from 11 eateries, including Leroy’s Kitchen & Lounge, Tiger! Tiger!, Nine-Ten, Cowboy Star, Rare Form and Port Brewing; a $10 ticket gets you samples of all participating sausages while $30 tacks on a take-home stein filled with a liter of local beer. LITTLE ITALY— Tickets are going fast for this year's grand Ferragosto, held in honor of the Italian national holiday on Saturday, August 15. The chosen theme is Pompeii, and togas are encouraged for the open-air evening event that includes live bands, dancing, acrobats and other performers, multiple bars and a raffle and silent auction whose prizes include a trip to Italy and tickets to the next Superbowl. MAKERS QUARTER— For their fifth anniversary, Twisted Manzanita Ales & Spirits is throwing a party at SILO at Makers Quarter on Saturday, June 27th from 4 to 7 p.m., with shuttles running from both their Santee and Pacific Beach locations to the event site. There will be special beers, including the brewery's release of its first-ever sour, plus tastings of Twisted Manzanita spirits and food from Carnitas' Snack Shack, Nomad Donuts and more.
