Florent Restaurant & Lounge Announces Chef Switcheroo

In breaking chef news, Rich Sweeney, the founding executive chef of Florent Restaurant & Lounge, has just stepped down from his post at the Gaslamp restaurant. Although Sweeney will remain a partner of the restaurant and nightlife venue that opened last June, Brad Hightow (University Club) will take over the head chef post by the end of the week. The restaurant says that Hightow will be adding some signature dishes but the overall menu will not change.

Last week, Sweeney announced that he will shutter his R Gang Eatery after Mother's Day; a multi-chef farewell dinner, scheduled for Friday, is part of the fond sendoff for the Hillcrest restaurant.
