Little Lion Launches Dinner & Mira Mesa's New Night Market

Plus, Perfect Pairings goes the burger route.

OCEAN BEACH— Belgian-Californian Little Lion Cafe & Bar, which opened last fall with daytime food service, is expanding into dinner starting Tuesday, June 2. Available from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday through Saturday, the menu includes a soup, bruschetta and market vegetable of the day, plus Belgian carbonnade with Griffin Farm greens and Belgian Lion potatoes, halibut with beurre blanc, capers, fingerling potatoes, haricot vert and fava beans and shrimp croquettes with celery root and carrot slaw. MIRA MESA— This Saturday, May 30 is the first iteration of the D6 Night Market; named for San Diego’s City Council District 6, the free event will be held from 4 to 10 p.m. at the Mira Mesa Community Park at 8575 New Salem Street. There will be food and drink vendors, from food trucks to outdoor gardens for coffee and tea, beer and wine; among the eateries scheduled to attend are SuperNatural Sandwiches, WOW WOW Waffle and LA's Ice Cream Garden. CARLSBAD— Perfect Pairings, which specialized in wine and beer paired tasting menus, as rebranded and reopened as Craft Burger, which now offers a range of burger options, from beef to portobello mushroom, chicken breast and wild caught ahi.
