Santee craft brewery Twisted Manzanita Ales is now free from spent grain theft as San Diego County Sheriff‘s deputies arrested a suspect related to the case. Times of San Diego reports that Twisted Manzanita Ales brewery was robbed of their grains four times before police found the guy. The leftover malt is the byproduct of beer making and seems like a very bulky, heavy, unwieldy thing to steal.
The brewery sold the grain as animal feed — one of the only uses for the byproduct. Officers returned the stolen goods to the beer manufacturers.
