City Renames AleSmith's Street, Brewery Will Expand to North County

AleSmith Brewing Company has been readying their move to a more than 100,000-square-foot production facility, which they will open to the public this summer. In Facebook post, it was just revealed that AleSmith's new street address, 9990 Empire Street, will henceforth also be known as AleSmith Court — an honor given to the brewery by The City of San Diego.

Meanwhile its current location, which is also in the Miramar area at 9368 Cabot Drive, will be the new San Diego home of Danish brewery Mikkeller.

AleSmith also has its sights set on North County. The San Diego Reader reports that it will be one of several brewery tenants in a new Carlsbad project called the North 40 that plans to combine an artisan food marketplace and an urban farm experience. The development is scheduled to launch in late 2016.
