Fresh Catch's Grand Opening & a New Menu at Tower23's JRDN

Plus, "Mexitalian" pizzas at Toast.

HILLCREST— Fresh Catch Fish Market & Grill, which recently replaced Osteria Origano on 5th Avenue, is holding its grand opening party tonight from 5:30 to 9:30 p.m. The newly remodeled eatery will serving up complimentary tastes of wine and signature bites from its casual seafood-focused menu to the public and offering special opening discounts on dinner and drinks. PACIFIC BEACH— JDRN, Tower23 hotel's beach-adjacent restaurant, has introduced a fresh dinner and dessert menu courtesy of newly-appointed executive chef Danilo Tangalin. Tangalin's new lineup includes a take on foie gras with peanuts, berry jam and biscuits and a mix of meat and seafood, from a 14 ounce ribeye to a half-chicken or the catch of the day, which can be customized with a variety of rubs, sauces and sides. On the sweet side, there's a pistachio parfait that layers cake with rhubarb-strawberry compote, frozen yogurt, caramel and granola and the Macadamia Joy, which combines white and dark chocolate, coconut and roasted banana ice cream. EAST VILLAGE— Toast Enoteca & Cucina executive chef Martin Gonzalez is crafting some Cinco de Mayo dishes that combine his love of Italian and Mexican cuisine. Featured all day on Tuesday, May 5 will be special edition "Mexitalian" pizzas, available with regular and homemade gluten-free crust, that include a carnitas-inspired pie toped with braised pork, mozzarella and cannellini beans, the "Mexicana" with tomato salsa, beans, cheese, housemade chorizo, pancetta and serrano peppers and a green chilaquiles pizza topped with chips, a green salsa, cheese, onion, sour cream and avocado.
