Local chef and personality Su-Mei Yu, a cookbook author and owner of Saffron Thai restaurants, will star in the third season of her KPBS culinary program Savor San Diego, which premiers on Thursday, May 7 at 8:30 p.m.
The Emmy-nominated series, which focuses on San Diego's food community, has highlighted the craft beer industry, local farmers and fishermen in past seasons. According to a release, the six new episodes, which first air on Thursdays and repeat on Saturdays at 4:30 p.m., will feature the food scene in Little Italy and the Convoy District, profile local businesses Prager Brothers Artisan Breads and Venissimo Cheese as well as food-related non-profits and environmentally-friendly food companies, and explore food trends in nutrition and diets.
