Coffee & Chocolate Pairing and Sab-E-Lee's Spinoff Opens

MISSION BEACH— The Swell Cafe is hosting a coffee and chocolate pairing tomorrow night, April 24, with a seating at 5:30 and 7 p.m. Put on in partnership with the San Diego Coffee Network, the event will showcase single origin coffee and chocolate; Swell will be teaming up with Nibble Chocolate, a local company specializing in organic dark chocolate, handmade from single origin cocoa beans. Tickets are $25. LINDA VISTA— Chowhouder posted a first dispatch from Thai Papaya Pok Pok, the new eatery from the Sab-E-Lee folks which slots into the transplanted restaurant's original pint-sized space.The menu reportedly includes a dozen different riffs on papaya salads, plus noodle soups and a variety of snacks. DEL MAR— L'Auberge Del Mar, home to Kitchen 1540, has installed a new restaurant, called Coastline, on the hotel's outdoor terrace. Helmed by executive sous chef Scott Mickelson (formerly of The Lion's Share), the seafood-centric, all-day menu includes blackened shrimp tacos with buttermilk lime ranch and Fresno chilies, an Asian-inspired salmon burger and oysters with apple mignonette. Craft beer, champagne and signature cocktails round out the beverage program. [EaterWire]
