KINDRED is steadily growing steam in South Park. The new cocktail bar with a focus on vegan food is slated to open this summer; earlier this month, it divulged a few hints about the basis of its beverage program, which will include draft beers, kombucha on tap, house made soda, and cocktails.

Now, the bar is revealing the duo that will curate and craft the drink menu. Newly appointed bar manager, also dubbed its "overlord of elixers", David Kinsey should be a familiar face to regulars at Normal Heights' Sycamore Den, where he is assistant bar manager. Previously behind the bar at Craft & Commerce, Kinsey is a member of cocktail consulting group Rumbling Tins Co.

Collaborating with Kinsey on menu development is KINDRED's "master of potions" Sean Hoard. Hoard's impressive cocktail pedigree includes a head bartender post at New York's famed PDT, where he trained with legendary barman Jim Meehan, and a stop at Portland's Clyde Common before becoming bar manager at the city's well-regarded Teardrop Lounge; he also co-founded The Commissary, which provides fresh juices, syrups and mixers to bars throughout Portland.

Owner Kory Stetina tells Eater that KINDRED's classically-driven cocktail program will revolve around fresh produce, quality distillates, and house-made syrups, sodas, and bitters, with a special focus on herbaceous-based liqueurs from around the world, especially amari.
