Belgian Beers & Bar Touring With Brabant and PB Bar & Grill Revamps

Plus, Bottega Americano launches wine dinners.

SOUTH PARK— On Saturday, April 25 Brabant Bar & Cafe is launching its first Belgian beer tour, all set on San Diego soil. From 1 to 5 p.m., the 30th Street restaurant is sponsoring a free shuttle that will run a loop between five beer-centric eateries, each featuring the food and drink of a different region of Belgium. There will be sour flights, special beer toasts, glassware giveaways and more. [EaterWire]

PACIFIC BEACH— This week, PB Bar & Grill shuttered after a long tenure on Garnet Avenue. Partners Eric Lingenfelder and Mark Cirillo of the Verant Group (Tavern at the Beach, West Coast Tavern) and David Cohen are giving the sports bar a makeover, with Bluemotif Architecture signed up to do the design. EAST VILLAGE— Bottega Americano is kicking off a new wine dinner series with an inaugural five course dinner scheduled for Sunday, May 3 at 8 p.m. Executive chef Dave Warner will pair dishes with wines from Italy's Masi Agricola in the Valpolicella region. The menu includes Pinot Grigio with Alaskan halibut and spot prawn crudo, dry aged NY strip steak served family-style with Amarone della Valpolicella Classico DOC 2007 and concludes with cheese and chocolate. [EaterWire]
