Eater Bartender of the Year Christian Siglin is Joining Bracero

New, 1 comment

The highly-anticipated, Javier Plascencia-led project scores.

Expect the cocktail program at Bracero to be noteworthy, now that Christian Siglin is on board as bar director. Chosen as Eater's Bartender of the Year in 2014, Siglin will depart Bankers Hill Bar + Restaurant towards the end of April. Siglin joined Bankers Hill in 2013, where he helped to create one of the most well-regarded cocktail programs in the city for the restaurant that's co-owned by Terryl Gavre, who told Eater that she considers opening Bracero a wonderful opportunity for the talented bartender.

Siglin, who previous managed the bar at Craft & Commerce and is a member of the cocktail consulting group Rumbling Tins Co., told Eater that Little Italy's Bracero, which is scheduled to open at the end of May, will have a three-well, full-service bar downstairs as well as an upstairs bar that may feature some higher end product.

At least half of Siglin's planned cocktail list will be based on a variety of agave-based spirits and Mexican-inspired flavors; tableside mezcal service is under consideration, and the beer list will be split between Mexican craft beer and other rotating taps.
