The serve-yourself beer concept, which tracks your pours via wristband, first debuted in San Diego when Barrel Republic opened on Garnet Avenue in Fall 2013.
Owner David Pike has expansion plans for the beer bar, with a second and third location scheduled to open this summer.
First to launch, likely by early summer, will be a bar in downtown Oceanside at 215 N Coast Highway. It'll be followed by the late summer opening of a new Barrel Republic in downtown Carlsbad, at 2961 State Street.
Both spots have a kitchen, so Pike is expanding the concept to include a full food menu that's still being developed but will mainly feature shared plates.
