Our readers have been asking for an update on JINYA Ramen Bar, which we reported would be expanding into Hillcrest (815 University Ave.) along with a new 200-seat Robata JINYA, a larger, more upscale restaurant serving grilled skewers, sushi and more.
The 50-seat ramen bar, which has other locations in the Los Angeles area, is also headed to Pacific Beach. A tipster spotted a post on JINYA's website and Capital Real Estate Ventures' Justin Earley confirmed that the noodle shop will be taking over the Oggi's Pizza spot at 825 Garnet Avenue. IKEDO DESIGN's Satoshi Ikedo, who is designing both sites, says that construction should start in May and they are targeting to open all locations by mid-August or early September.
