Encinitas Gets an URBN Pizza & a 50s-Themed Cocktail Dinner

Plus, BICE Ristorante launches lunch service.

ENCINITAS— URBN Coal Fired Pizza's first coastal North County spot and fourth location is now open on Pacific Coast Highway; the 1,500-square-foot space is serving up URBN's signature, thin crust New Haven-style pies and offering beers brewed at the group's URBN Brewing Co. in El Cajon. Hours are noon to 10 p.m., Sunday through Thursday and noon to midnight Friday and Saturday. [EaterWire]

DOWNTOWN— Time travel at Saltbox on Wednesday, March 25 at 6:30 p.m.; the restaurant is planning a 50s-era dinner comprised of five small plates and cocktails to pair with each course, all for $35. Throwback dishes include a spin on a Waldorf salad made with endives, apple and celeriac and diver scallop Almondine.

GASLAMP— Starting April 2, BICE Ristorante will offer lunch service for the first time since the restaurant opened in the Gaslamp in 2010. Available Tuesday through Saturday from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., the menu includes a foie gras-stuffed potato croquette with a Granny Smith apple puree and Santa Barbara prawns serve with housemade pasta with a fava bean puree.
