SF-Based CREAM Opens in San Diego With Ice Cream Giveaway

Free ice cream, all day this Friday.

CREAM, an acronym for Cookies Rule Everything Around Me, is San Francisco-based dessert concept with nine locations in California whose first San Diego store is scheduled to open Friday, March 20 at 5157 College Avenue, Suite B, adjacent to SDSU.

Franchise owners and brother Sam and Abdul Malas own the rights to open three CREAM shops in the San Diego area, with the hopes of adding on more in the next few years; the next to launch will be in Pacific Beach, at 1038 Garnet Avenue.

CREAM specializes in ice cream sandwiches, customizable with 20 ice cream flavors, 20 cookie flavors and more than 20 toppings. There are also vegan and gluten-free options sandwich options, plus milkshakes, floats, malts and a taco-shaped waffle cone filled with ice cream.

This Friday from noon to midnight, the San Diego shop plans to make and give away an untold number of free ice cream sandwiches to celebrate its opening.
