A Will Ferrell-Endorsed Beer Fest & Dinner on a Farm

Plus a Mexican-owned winery tasting.

EMBARCADERO— Will Ferrell will forever be linked to San Diego, thanks to the Anchorman movies. The actor is a frequent visitor to San Diego via his work with the nonprofit, Cancer for College, and has hosted several fundraising pub crawls through local craft beer bars. Ferrell is supporting a new beer event, the Best Coast Beer Fest, which will be held on Saturday, March 7 at Embarcadero Park South. Tickets range from a VIP option that includes a meet the brewers experience and special food and beer pairings, including a fish and chips taco from God Save the Cuisine and a butter poached lobster grilled cheese from Devilicious to $45 general admission passes; both tickets entitle you to unlimited tastings from over 100 West Coast-based breweries. 100% of the proceeds will go towards Cancer for College, which provides scholarships to cancer survivors. VALLEY CENTER— Stehly Farms Organics, which runs several local produce markets and is working on a new full-service grocery store in Kensington, is hosting a supper at their Valley Center farm on Sunday, March 8 from 1 to 5 p.m. The Dinner on the Farm feast will be cooked by chef Antonio Friscia from Don Chido and Brooklyn Girl's Colin Murray, with beverage pairings from local Vesper Vineyards and Rough Draft Brew. IMPERIAL BEACH— On Saturday, March 14, SEA180 coastal tavern is holding a ‘Baja To Napa’ wine event that will feature a group of Mexican winemakers that own wineries in Napa Valley and in Baja's Valle de Guadalupe. For $40, you can attend a 2 p.m. winemaker symposium which includes a panel discussion and tasting with six participating winemakers and also access the 3:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. tasting tour that will feature 18 wineries and include tray-passed hors d'oeuvres. Tickets for just the tasting tour, held on the restaurant's patio, are $25.
