A treasured tipster told us that Pangea Bakery Cafe would be closing. The Convoy Street shop, which specialized in coffee and Asian-style pastries and cakes, has been selling off their remaining dessert stock and officially shuttered today.
In a December Facebook post, Pangea advertised for a new partner for the business, sharing that "All the original partners have moved out of the country, gotten older, gotten kids, or is pregnant. It's been profitable, albeit now needing some TLC and inspiration."
Perhaps Pangea has also been feeling the effects from the opening of the massively popular 85 Degrees.
Eater spoke with a rep for the bakery, who said there is a possibility that they may look to reopen in Bonita or Chula Vista.
