Lightning Brewery Crowdfunds to Add Biergarten

Lightning Brewery, which debuted a expanded tasting room at their Poway facility last fall, now wants to add a patio and is taking the crowdfunding route to make it happen.

The brewery, which first opened in 2006, just launched an Indiegogo campaign to raise the $12,000 needed to build out the new biergarten, which will add outdoor drinking space and help ramp up their food truck service.

In the video, president and head brewer Jim Crute lists what's being offered in exchange for donations to the campaign, which closes March 29. Rewards include patio pavers, beer tasting tokens and even the opportunity to brew with the Lightning crew.
